After my previous post on Murakami’s video work, I decided on a whim that this week is Takashi Murakami week.

These images are from the 2010 exhibition Murakami Versailles. The contrast between Murakami’s work and the historic Palace of Versailles creates some truly magnificent images. But despite the culture clash the exhibition also created unexpected parallels between the wealth and opulence of the French court and the decadence of today’s super-rich. The result is absolutely spectacular and completely over the top.

You can check out Murakami’s official website here. Images via Galerie Perrotin.
